Peer Mentoring Camp'09

I have a new name there - Something Wrong(something "Rong"). Yea, they only remembered the "Rong". Lol!

Okay, so Monday booked into the camp at Bottle Tree Park, Yishun. Our sleeping/gathering area is in this sheltered place at the entrance. The people I know in my group will only be Seng How, Kai Chung and Gloria. o.o Our instructor is Yao Xing(a guy), which Seng Hao is unhappy of as he wanted a girl. Haha! And throughout the whole of 3 days, it was just more of lectures(in a educating way, not scoldings). Yea, so most of the time we are just stoning away. Our clan name will be Pretzel, that snack. :)

First day was just ice-breakers and some games which some of us need to try to carry out the games on a SL-to-freshmen situation at the game station. And yea, it was raining heavily the whole day. We also have to come up with a mass dance which will be selected during campfire, which will in turn to be our FOC mass dance. Our group's song is The Ketchup Song. So was just thinking about the dance steps and was some simple campfire preparations after dinner. Also, I finally remembered the 嘻唰唰 dance steps. Lol! And they also taught us the Chori Chori dance which is exactly the same as the YCS councillors are dancing! :) Too bad there isn't enough time to teach us the Para Para. Night games was Candle War, very different from YCS.

Second day was a really long, tired, fun, bonding day. Lol! It was Amazing Race in the morning around the Yishun estate. It was pretty fun as you can explore Yishun estate as well as some facts about some interesting places there. We can only depend on walking, no buses and MRT. Haha! So we practically just walked and walked and walked for 3 solid hours. Yea, quite tiring.

After lunch was the Endurance Training. It is fun and DAMN tired. First, we went for a short run then was purely physical training and the instructors were treating us like NS-men. Lol! Yea, and we have to do everything the perfect way since we are leaders! Good thing the YCS councillors were not trained this way. :P Anyways, we did push-up, blurpies. And the most tiring one, I don't know how to explain - whereby you stretch out your both arms parallel to the ground and clap about your head with your arms straight. Sounds easy, but after doing so much PT, that is sure gonna sore your arms. Learnt some military drills too, cool.

Last of all, the most violent and educational one, should I say. Haha! It was Spread and Squeeze. You and your group mates will cuddle together, interlocking your hands with each other. Then, the instructors and our MDES seniors will tear you guys apart, taking down as many people as possible. Suddenly, they turned crazy and forcing you to give up and break the bonds in your group. So the whole scenario you can imagine is, everybody is being pulled everywhere with lots of force, at the same time, securing the bonds so that nobody is being pulled out from the group. Lots of people got bruises everywhere on their arms and injuries. As you can see, this is really a good team-bonding game but very very violent. Most fell onto the ground(sandpit) and they poured water at us. Haha! I had some blue-blacks and some bruises on my arms. Heard from my friend that my left arm was nearly dislocated by one of the instructors in the middle of the struggle. LOL! I seriously don't feel anything wrong. O.O

Campfire was just a simple one, with no fire cause it looked like it's gonna rain. And yes, our final FOC dance is selected and it was another group's dance - That Thing You Do. And yes our group's dance was very cocky. HAHAHA! Was seriously impromptu dance steps which seems comedic. :P

Today's the last day, not much happening just photo sessions. Lol! Overall the camp was good. Food was the best CAMP FOOD ever! It is in a buffet style and it is still WARM, not packet food! :D Haha! My sleeping bag was wet as it rained on the first day and water seeped in. So I was sleeping on the hard concrete ground for the 2 nights, with no protection and I was shivering from 4am till 7am. Haha! Was very torturing, the coldness! >.< It was bloody cold for the 2 nights! We also saw the MRT track service train every night. It was named as the "ghost train". Haha! So yea, our activities are mainly at the entrance of the park, never really went into the park itself. Whole body was aching now due to the PT. Haha!
